Overview
Āmalaki (Amla or Nelli) is amongst the best Rasāyana herbs to promote vitality, delay cellular ageing and promote total wellbeing. Amla is highly recommended to be used daily as a tonic. This adaptogen reduces stress and is considered to improve memory and cognition. High concentrations of Vitamin C and antioxidants present in Amla promotes longevity and is rich in anti-ageing, detoxifying, anti-inflammatory properties. Amla also promotes healthy skin and hair growth. It is also used by Ayurvedic practitioners to improve the health of blood, bones, digestive system, liver and skin.
In Ayurveda, Āmalaki is said to aid in the treatment of the following health conditions:

- Low Immunity
Additionally, Āmalaki is said to possess cooling properties that can help soothe Pitta (one of the three Dōshas). According to the principles of Ayurveda, excess Pitta can contribute to inflammation, skin conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, and stress-related issues.
Amla exfoliates and cleanses skin, by removing the dead cells. It is known to protect the skin and hair against harmful radiations of the sun and environmental chemicals. Amla is known to promote hair growth.
